(Chicago, IL)-June 19, 2006- For the month of July, the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau (CCTB) has 34 conventions, trade shows and other meetings on record. These events are expected to attract 77,165 attendees, who will spend an estimated $99 million while in the city of Chicago.
Following are the highlights:
WOMEN OF FAITH
The Women of Faith Conference will take place July 7-8 at the United Center. It is expected to attract 10,000 delegates and generate an estimated $7 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
This two-day conference is the largest women's conference in the US and features a variety of speakers and seminars geared to inspire women of faith.
The ASI SHOW, INC
Over 10,000 delegates will meet at McCormick Place for The ASI Show! The show will be held July 11-13 and is expected to generate $5 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
With over 800 of the industry's top suppliers and 4,000 distributors, The ASI Show is the largest promotional products show in the Midwest.
NBTA
The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) will meet at McCormick Place July 16-19. This is the first time NBTA is holding this premier business travel event in Chicago. It is expected to attract 5,000 delegates and bring an estimated $5 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
With over 400 companies exhibiting, NBTA is the industry's largest exposition for business travel and the world's largest gathering of corporate travel buyers.
AACC ANNUAL MEETING AND CLINICAL LAB EXPO
The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) is hosting its 2006 Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Exposition July 23-27 at McCormick Place. It is expected to attract 20,000 delegates and generate and estimated $37 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
AACC is the largest clinical lab exposition in the world with over 1600 exhibitors demonstrating the latest products and services. The five-day meeting also features a variety of networking opportunities and educational seminars geared towards clinical laboratory science.
TS2 ® 2006
The Trade Show Exhibitors Association's Annual Meeting, TS2 2006, meets at McCormick Place July 25-27. The three-day event is expected to attract 2,000 delegates and generate an estimated $4 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
TS2 is the premier event for exhibit and event marketing professionals. The meeting features exhibitors from the industry's leading associations who will display their latest products and services.
2006 KEHE Show
Over 4,000 delegates will meet at McCormick Place July 28-31 for the 2006 KEHE Show.The KEHE Food Distributors show is expected to generate $4 million in direct expenditures for the city of Chicago.
The 2006 KEHE Show is a company-sponsored tradeshow/sales meeting. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the best way to package, prepare, and distribute their products.
Public Event
Chicago will host the Federation of Gay Games July 15-22. The event will feature over 30 sport competitions at a dozen venues throughout the city. The event is expected to draw nearly 15,000 people to the city of Chicago.
